Is Spaying (Abortion) an Option?

By Franny Syufy, About.com

So you were a little slow in having her spayed and your cat turned up pregnant, or a pregnant stray adopted you. Perhaps you are working with a rescue group and this is your first fostering experience with a pregnant cat. Where do you go from here? Your first major decision is whether or not to allow the condition to continue. Pregnant cats (called "queens"), can be spayed, but the decision will depend on a number of factors, which you should discuss with other family members, along with your veterinarian

Eric and Charlie

Posted by: des  :  Category: cats

Eric and Charlie are the two youngest of our cats. They were both abandoned at 6wks old but we only had Eric first. This is Eric when he was small. Charlie had a home with a guy that worked at the vets where my daughter works. When she was about 4 months old this guy decided that he would like to have a black and white kitten that was in the vets so he took Charlie back and swopped her for this black and white kitten. (I know its a terrible thing to do). So my daughter brought Charlie home. She was very nervous and frightened at first but soon got used to me and my daughter and the other cats. Eric loved her as it was somebody of his own age. He didn't know it was his sister. They have both been neutered and spayed respectively and are still good friends . I call the them the terrible twins.

New treatment for Kidney Disease

Does your cat have kidney disease ? If so then you will know how hard it is to manage this problem. But now there is a new product that vets can prescribe for your cat which is in paste form. Therefore making it easier for you to administer it to your cat.

Cats with kidney disease have to keep their phosphate levels down .This new paste contains an active ingredient that helps to bind phosphates in the gut making them indigestible and easing the burden on the already over worked kidneys.
