How to Harness your cat

To start with just put the harness on without a lead for short amounts of time sso that your cat gets used to wearing it. Gradually increase the amount time he/she wears it . Always take off the harness at anytime your cat shows signs of having had enough of wearing it. Give it treats and distract it’s attention while it is wearing the harness so that it associates it with nice things like food and attention.
Once it has got used to wearing a harness then you can start adding the lead and allow it to walk around with it on. Try holding the lead and walking for a short time with your cat. This will all take time and patience but when your cat has got used to walking with the lead and harness around the house then gradually move to the outside. Take things slowly and see how your cat reacts to the outside and let him/her dictate the pace.
