Keeping your Chips Up-To-Date
Vets are urging people to keep the contact information on their pets microchips up to date. There has been a lot of strays brought into vets and animal sanctuaries with microchips that have out of date information on them. Thus making it harder for pet and owner to be reunited.
Microchipping is simple and painless and costs about £25 per chip. Your pet will have a small chip inserted under their skin normally on the back of the neck which contains a unique code. When this code is scanned by the vet or other persons with a bar code scanner then one phonecall to the database holder and usually the owner can be notified about their missing pet .Please if you change your address, phone number or ownership then contact the chip company that holds the relevant information and get it updated.
